The Living Plant Museum is an exhibition showing a live collection of plant species across all categories of the plant classification system. This exhibition is an integral part of the teaching and learning processes in various courses within the Department, basic required courses of the Faculty of Science, and general education courses offered to students from different programs. It serves as a research venue for graduate studies and provides academic services to over 2,000 people annually from Chulalongkorn University. The museum also serves as a reference point, a recreational area, and a comprehensive source of botanical knowledge for students, researchers, and the general public interested in botany. Furthermore, it facilitates visits for educational purposes and training sessions on plant knowledge applicable to educational institutions, which is vital for foundational learning in botany. This exhibition is the first of its kind at the university level in Thailand.
Evaporation Temperature Room
The first section consists of a temperature-controlled room for research related to plant cultivation technology, where environmental conditions must be continuously regulated, such as hydroponics or various forms of soilless culture. This section is not open to the public.
Live Plant collections
The second section includes the greenhouse and the areas surrounding it. It features an area of 504 square meters that presents information on plant diversity and evolution, including displays of endemic and rare plant species in Thailand, with a collection of no fewer than 200 species. The collection is divided into six exhibitions.
